Istanbul ~ July 20
Today we board an early 7:00 a.m. flight from Istanbul to Izmir where we will visit the ancient Roman city of Ephesus. We will also visit the site where the Virgin Mary ascended into Heaven located on the moutain side next to Ephesus.

Kids,
I tied a hanky to the prayer tree on two occasions for Grandpa Frank. Mary’s last home is truly a holy place. I never felt so peaceful as when inside. What a beautiful experience for the family. Hope Ephesus was not too hot. Hopefully John is feeling better. Enjoy your last hours in Turkey and travel safe. Can’t wait to hear your voices. We leave Sunday to visit Gram.

Brings back fabulous memories! What an amazing site, well, sites. Wish I could be walking it again…except for the heat and humidity that I remember so fondly. ( :
